ALM Seminar: Supporting Women’s Participation in Adult Mathematics Learning: Insights and Reflections from an Action Research study in England.

Date: Monday May 11th 2026 at 7pm (UK); 8pm (CET).

We are excited to announce that registration is now open for our next ALM virtual seminar, which will be led by Farhat Syyeda, a lecturer and researcher in the School of Education, University of Leicester, UK. Farhat will be presenting findings from a study of the factors that impact women’s participation in mathematics learning, especially those from low income, disadvantaged and minority ethnic communities. The study included an investigation into the challenges these adults faced in returning to formal education, and the development of strategies to support and facilitate them to re-engage. Further information about this seminar can be found on the ALM seminar webpage.
